Collage Camp w/KCWillis

If you have toyed with taking KC Willis' collage class, now is the time! She's running a special this week:
$75 instead of the usual $98. You get a series of 6 lessons on how she creates her great works on fabric-a community of others to show off your work and ask questions. I took her class back in the spring and loved it-actually took a 2nd class of hers after that one- i've posted some of my work in etsy that i did after being inspired by her class~you don't even have to know how to sew-other than straight-and even that could be an option if you don't~so check out her link-

It was a White One!

Christmas Eve day came with a prediction of a "light dusting of snow-up to 1 inch. "
We got more. By the time we went to breakfast and ran an errand, the rain turned to mix then to snow. Here is the front yard by late in the day.
We headed to mom & dad's-on the icy roads-dad had gone to pick up the food-(i'm sure he was cussing the other drivers all the way there and back!) :) Everyone made it safely-keith, sandra, aaron, suzanne, ty, travis, patrick and addison. We ate, joked, cleaned up a bit then headed to tree #2 to open gifts. Addison wasn't quite sure what to make of it-since she had been told not to mess with the gifts for days when she was at grandma's-and now she got to open them. Our favorite was the "doll in a coffin" as we all nicknamed it. (She'll never know!)
We took our traditional foot picture by the tree at mom's.

Gary braved the cold when we got home to walk the dogs-they loved the snow so much today that he took them out to the dogpark -the only stayed a few minutes then they were ready to back to the warmth of the house!

Busy Days

Sunday was my art mtg and we made these lovely copper poinsettia's~easier to make than they look!

On Mon night Gary and I took Addison downtown to eat and see the Christmas tree. We had seen her earlier in the day at my mom's and she was so excited to tell us that santa had been in the garage and she scared him. He dropped a chair for her little table. She wanted me to "come get her" so we decided to get her that night.
She was more interested in the brick road and traffic buttons than the tree~she loves the lights, but when we got her there-she just wanted to run around and look at the street~did manage a few pictures of her.

Tonight i took her to look at lights-since she fell asleep mon. We also went to visit a long time friend who hadn't met her yet-now it's home to do some baking.

Hawk

When we first moved in here, we had hawks that hung out in the neighborhood-we have a park/dog park next to us to the north, the catfish ponds/land to the west-so saw plenty of hawk activity. I used to love to sit on the back porch to watch them. Then they razed the house/land behind us to put in a 21 house development. (only 4 are built) The hawks went away. This week, we have a hawk. He was sitting on the roof of our honda 3 days ago-flew off before i could get a picture. He was out today-again no picture, but i'll get one-and when i do, post the photo...

First Week of December

Well, we had light dusting of snow this week-unheard of in Texas this time of yr. Just as i shot a picture of the backyard, Nala was kind enough to squat for the picture!

Mon night Gary and i went downtown (ft worth) to grab a burger and see the Christmas tree and lights around town.
